YOUTH SOFTBALL


Grades K-1: Rookies (In-town League)
Learn the basics of batting, fielding, catching and throwing while having fun with friends. Small sided games will be played to develop ability, skill and experience. This will increase focus, skill development (more chances for action), increase participation during the game and enhance the kids enjoyment. Program will be in-town if enough teams but program would join local towns for game play if needed.

8U, 10U, 12U and 14U Softball Divisions and Teams 
There will be one league of play for the 2024 youth softball, Little League Softball. Little League offers a faster paced game. This league will perhaps require more time commitment for practices with a possibility of summer tournament play for All-Stars in the 10U, 12U & 14U divisions.

8U (7&8 year olds, born in 2015-2016) = $60
10U (9&10 year olds, born in 2013-2014) = $75
12U (11&12 year olds, born in 2011-2012) = $100
14U (13&14 year olds, born in 2009-2010) = $100

UNIFORMS for 8U, 10U, 12U, 14U Little League Divisions:  The WPRD and Wilbraham Hampden Softball Committee decided that it would be in the best interest of everyone to SEPARATE the registration fee and uniform fee. This will expand the offering of uniform separate pieces that may or may not be needed. After teams are formed you will be notified via email with instructions for ordering and paying for your child's uniform.

EVALUATION INFORMATION: 
Sunday, February 4th at Powerhouse in East Longmeadow
Times: Between 4-8pm, exact times TBD based off registration number for age groups

Important Dates (tentative)
             Registration: December 12th - January 8th (*$10 late registration fee after January 9th and $20 after January 23rd)
             Practices start: mid March/early April
             Opening Day: April 20, 2024
             Games Starts: middle/end of April
             Team Pictures: May 18, 2024
             Season Ends: end of June (Little League All-Stars will go through July)

PLEASE NOTE:
Players in the 8U, 10U, 12U, and 14 U are REQUIRED to have their own defensive face mask and a glove.
Players are ENCOURAGED to have their own bat and batting helmet with cage, especially for 12U and 14U. 

*NOTE: The Rookies Softball Program (Gr K & 1) is an in-town program and not part of Little League.

*Once teams are formed and players assigned, NO CHANGES will be made.
